Holladay Bourbon Derby Day Cocktails
From the classic mint julep, to elegant expressions like the lavender old fashioned, this cocktail line-up will have you off to the races and feeling fancy enough for millionaire’s row. The hardest part will be choosing which recipe to place your bets on, but Holladay Bourbon is always a winning choice. Cheers!
Holladay Mint Julip
2 oz Ben Holladay Bourbon
2 sugar cubes
2 tsp water
4 mint leaves
Muddle the mint, sugar, and water in your selected cocktail glass. Fill glass with cracked/pebble ice, add bourbon, and gently stir until the glass is frosted. Garnish with a mint sprig.
Holladay Lavender Old Fashioned
2 oz Holladay Soft Red Wheat Bourbon
.5 oz lavender syrup
2-3 drops of lemon bitters
Combine all ingredients into a rocks glass with a large single ice cube. Gently stir. Use a brush to paint your cocktail glass with honey then sprinkle on lemon zest and lavender buds to garnish. (May substitute with orange zest/bitters for a gentler, less bright finish)
Holladay Paloma
2 oz Ben Holladay Bourbon
3 oz grapefruit juice
0.5 oz lime juice
0.5 oz simple syrup
Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice until chilled and strain into a tall glass with fresh ice. Garnish with fresh grapefruit wedges.
Holladay Lemon-Honey Martini
1.5 oz Ben Holladay Bourbon
2 oz sour mix or lemonade
1 oz Limoncello
.5 oz Honey
Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice until chilled and strain into a martini glass of your choosing.
Holladay Rose
2 oz Holladay Soft Red Wheat Bourbon
½ oz simple syrup
1 oz rose liqueur
½ oz egg whites
1 drop angostura bitters
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and dry shake (no ice) for 10 seconds. Add a little ice and shake again another 10 seconds and strain into glass with fresh ice. Top with soda water.
Holladay Sweet Tea
2 oz Holladay Soft Red Wheat Bourbon
3 oz fresh brewed sweet tea
0.5 oz lemon juice
Combine all ingredients into a glass with ice and give a little stir. Garnish with a mint leaf and lemon.
